Venice Film Festival 2026: Where Cinema Meets Fashion

The Venice Film Festival 2026 is once again bringing together the biggest names in cinema, fashion and culture on the Lido di Venezia. Taking place from September 2 to 12, the 83rd edition of the festival opened with Danny Boyle’s Ink, while 21 films compete for the prestigious Golden Lion.

Clooney, recognised for his career as an actor, director and producer, received his award during the opening celebrations while Burstyn was honoured on September 7 for a career spanning some of the most influential films in American cinema.

The 2026 edition also puts Maggie Gyllenhaal firmly in the spotlight as president of the festival jury. Her connection to Venice is particularly significant, as her directorial debut The Lost Daughter premiered at the festival in 2021 and won Best Screenplay.
