Happy Women’s Day! - Moeva

We reflect on our journey with Moeva and the broader landscape of women's roles in fashion and entrepreneurship.

What inspired you to venture into the fashion industry, and how does it reflect your perspective as women?

Yağmur Zırh: Our inspiration stemmed from our own experiences and challenges in finding swimwear that was both functional and stylish. As women, we wanted to create a brand that empowers others to feel confident and beautiful. Our perspective as women has always guided our design process, aiming to cater to the diverse needs and preferences of women globally.

How do you believe Women's Day impacts the visibility and recognition of women entrepreneurs and designers in the fashion industry?
Damla Zırh: Women's Day plays a crucial role in highlighting the achievements and challenges of women entrepreneurs and designers. It's a moment to celebrate our successes and acknowledge the journey ahead in achieving equality and representation in the fashion industry. It also inspires young women to pursue their passions and break barriers in their respective fields.

In your journey with Moeva, what challenges have you faced as women in the fashion industry, and how have you overcome them?
Burcu Togay: As women in the fashion industry, we've encountered challenges such as securing investment, gaining credibility, and balancing work-life dynamics. We've overcome these challenges by staying true to our vision, supporting each other, and leveraging our unique strengths. Building a strong network and advocating for women's representation in all aspects of our business has also been pivotal.

Can you share a moment where you felt particularly proud of your accomplishments as women entrepreneurs in fashion?
Yağmur Zırh: One of our proudest moments was when we launched our first collection and saw the positive reception from women around the world. It was a validation of our hard work and a testament to the impact we could make by staying true to our vision of empowering women through fashion. Seeing our designs worn by diverse women and receiving their feedback has been incredibly rewarding.
How do you plan to continue empowering women through your work at Moeva?
Damla Zırh: Moving forward, we aim to continue empowering women by creating designs that celebrate diversity, empowering inner soul, strength, and elegance. We plan to engage more in community initiatives, support women's causes, and promote sustainability in fashion. Our goal is to create a platform that not only highlights the power of women through our designs but also contributes positively to their lives and the environment.

What advice would you give to young women aspiring to make their mark in the fashion industry or entrepreneurship?
Burcu Togay: Our advice to young women is to believe in your vision, be resilient, and embrace your unique perspective. The fashion industry is challenging, but it's also filled with opportunities to express yourself and make a difference. Seek mentors, build a supportive network, and never underestimate the power of your voice. Your creativity and determination can lead to meaningful change and success.
