Fashion is in the sky! We are finally enjoying the fashion month. We witnessed more alternative strategies than ever at NYFW. The discussion topics were not about just only the runway shows, but also ‘’see now, buy now’’ debates came to the forefront.
This season’s NYFW driven by new decisions, some of them were not on the right track yet. New York City always gathers up together classic and new styles.
Top trends: Pink, western and metallics.
We collected our favorite looks from the runways and the street.
Brandon Maxwell empowered his collection with volumes. Christian Siriano won general approval for placing importance on diversity and variety. Hood by Air, Jeremy Scott and Marc Jacobs were the contrarian ones. The critically acclaimed fashion house looked to the future with its 3D embroideries and reminded us this year’s MET Gala. Rodarte found the balance between its dark side and feminine side with its SS17 runway show. The rock-n-roll themed collection won everyone’s heart at NYFW. Rodarte was not the only one. Also, Coach created a biker girl squad for its runway show. Elvis Presley influences were appreciable on the runway. Some of the collections were politicized. Michael Kors gave support to Hillary Clinton for 2016 Presidental Elections. On the other hand, Kanye West was the most controversial one.
OSCAR DE LA RENTA
His show is staged at the Four Freedoms Park in the Roosevelt Island. His main intention was the drawing attention to the 1941 State of Union, which is about freedom, and demonstrates against the Republican Party’s presidential candidate Donald Trump. The polemical rapper shares a common ground with Michael Kors.
Rebecca Minkoff, Tom Ford, Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Kors and Ralph Lauren embraced the ‘’see now, buy now’’ model at their SS17 runway collections. This season’s NYFW was controversial and innovator. Alexander Wang was comfortably and relaxed but he also emphasized the cool girl attitude of his eponymous brand. Ralph Lauren’s first see now buy now fashion show took inspiration from the Mid-West. Gigi Hadid’s collection with Tommy Hilfiger gets the media’s attention. The Instagirl increased the sales of the company.
